A week prior to surgery or injections avoid aspirin and aspirin containing products (Excederin, Alka Selzer, etc), Vitamin E, grapes, grape seed extract, wine, antioxidants, NSAIDS (ibuprofen, naproxen, etc), St John's Wort, white willow bark, Gingko biloba. Many other herbs and medications can contribute to bruising, for a complete list see your physician or provider prior to surgery or injection for more insight on which products or medications to avoid or discontinue safely prior to treatment. Tylenol for pain will not contribute to bruising.
